Love Heart Key Ring

Ok – time to gather a few of your besties and get creative.

There are so many reasons why this project works well for a creative night in:

*   You don’t need any fancy equipment
*   It’s quick and easy
*   Who doesn’t love hearts
*   This Terrazzo look is all in
*   A fun night with friends

What’s not to love?

Better still, why not make two, one to keep and one for someone special.

Here's What You Need:

Material:

White Polymer Clay (I used Sculpey)
Pink Rock Salt
Key Ring
Varnish (I used Micador Crystal Clear)

Equipment:

Love heart cookie cutter
Rolling Pin
Greaseproof Paper
Drinking Straw
Baking Tray
Oven

Here's How You Do It:

Love Heart key ring supplies

Take a small piece of Sculpey clay.  Squeeze and massage it until it’s soft and well-conditioned.

Place your Sculpey between two sheets of grease proof paper and using a rolling pin, roll out to about 6 mm thickness. Remove top layer of paper and using your cookie cutter, press out your heart.

Sprinkle heart with pink rock salt and gently roll over heart again to imbed the salt, leaving your heart about 5 mm thick.

Press out a hole with a straw.

Place your heart onto tray and bake according to Sculpey instructions.

Once baked and cooled, spray top of heart with varnish and allow to dry.  Turn over and spray back of heart.  Repeat this process a few times for extra glossy coverage, and extra durability.

Attach your key ring.
